super cool reel. i normally fish 5ks for snook and tarpon. this is my first “light” reel but this thang whoops absolute ahh. landed some nice micro tarpon and 30” snook on it. im genuinely so surprised with the performance. drag knob has been a little sticky since day one but it probably just needs to get broken in some more

As a full time branding guy in the fishing industry, I use the mess out of my reels. This reel is absolutely bad to the bone. Smooth, strong, sleek, checks all the boxes. Can't recommend these reels enough. 6 stars. FFP rocks.

Osprey V-2. Great reel so far. Have used multiple times in fresh water and 3 full days of saltwater use as well. Very nice, no issues. Comparing it with the Shimano Stradic (Vanford) reels I own, I really like the Osprey and Salos better. The reels perform just as well (actually better imo) and the feel at the handle seat is perfect. The bend in the shimano is too tight to the rod and pinches my knuckles as I hold the rod. The Osprey is extremely comfortable and action is smooth as silk. Casts great and awesome drag. Will likely replace all of my other spinning reels with FFP reels as my budget allows.

Unbelievable drag when it counts and will handle anything you throw at it from Bull Reds to reef snapper it is a tank built to last!

The new V2 corrected my main complaint with the original, 2 piece handle. The new version feels more solid. Drag is super smooth and perfect for fighting redfish that make good runs. I have a bunch of high end reels from a competitor and this reel has found its way in the rotation with reels that cost twice as much. Just buy it, you will not be disappointed.

On the first trip out it handled a overslot red with ease. 4k made light work of him.

I have been a die hard Shimano upper in scale reel ! Fish Bites Trading Post in Saint Augustine Florida convinced me to try a few of the Osprey at my Charter comedy. I opted a 2500 series reel on a bull Bay 7’6” Rod. I was so fortunate to find a 42 inch red fish and found it to be easier to control with the osprey with a 16 pound drag made the fight, not only enjoyable, but confident that I was gonna land that big fish.

Now let’s fast forward to three days ago. I had a customer on my Charter break a real. I don’t know how and if you’re Charter Captain, we all shake our head on how they break a reel, but the spool would not go up and down to level the line as it’s being rolled in. All I did was literally go on their website open a chat send them a message with pictures describing my issue. Without question this company stands behind their products. They simply sent without proof sent me a shipping label and they’re either gonna fix it or replace it. Try that with Shimano or any of the other brands. These guys are no joke when they say they are here for the angler. That’s why I switched over 100% all my reels are Florida fishing products and all my rods are gonna be the bull day because they are just as good as Florida fishing products. They stand behind their products and mean what they say. I hope this helps.
