Had the Bahia bait caster and it broke after one use sent it and got it replaced but see how this one performs this time

This reel is super tough. I’ve dipped it in so many times and as long as you give it a light rinse with some fresh water after it’s all good. Drag is super smooth and reliable. Best reel I’ve owned for sure. Would recommend to most people that fish strongly. I’ve caught bass, striper, snook, and redfish over 35” on this reel and not one of them gave this reel a tough time.

Reel feels well balanced and has good qualities that are made for some saltwater environments.

Very smooth, light, and fits the bill. This was a purchase for my inshore species and occasional surf fishing. Casts beautifully and smooth retrieval.

I love the reel

I have 2 bahia 4000 reels, 1 for fresh and 1 for saltwater. I bought them both from tailwater outfitters. The 4th trip out with my saltwater setup the reel slips under load, starts skipping gears while setting the hook and periodically during the fight. I figured it was a lemon. Well I took my freshwater setup out today for snakehead (3rd time using this 1) and during the fight of my second snakehead of the day the reel was slipping like crazy and just constantly skipping gears on a 3lb snakehead. After the same exact issue with 2 separate reels I come to the conclusion these bahias are absolutely junk. This problem should not be happening to a $220 reel. I believe i bought these a little over a year ago so warranty is out i believe. The osprey reels are decent (i have 4) but the bahia is just garbage. After spending a total of $440 for 2 reels that only lasted a couple trips out before being completely unusable I'm going back to shimano. FFP you drop the ball with these or you need a new QC person. Im extremely disappointed with these. Stay away from the bahia

You can always find a cheaper reel from a big-name online store. But try getting real support from them. Try getting someone who actually cares about you, your gear, and your time on the water.

Absolutely cant speak highly enough about the Bahia. I purchased 2 4000 reels for some 7'6" custom rods I built. They are fantastic and performance is amazing especially for the price point.
