Was first exposed to the Osprey series in 2019 fishing trip off shores of Marco Island. The guide was rigged with all 4000 reels. I loved the feel and how they handled the fish during the Snook Show we experienced then. I purchased a 5000 Osprey to rig for surf casting here in the North East. 2020 I purchased the 4000 SS for Bonita and such for my other rod. Quality reels and the support from the staff exceptional. I am a charter captain out of Marathon Florida. I fish nearly 350 trips per year. I came across these reels and did a lot of research on them. I have fished with all the top brands on the market today. All of them which has their own set of problems. I ordered four of the Osprey 6000 SS with the upgraded power handles. Over my years of experience I have noticed that sunscreen chews up and eats the rubber handles on all reels. So far I have about over a month of use on these reels mostly offshore fishing for mahi-mahi With zero problems. Now remember professionals are not using my reels. They get abused and miss used on a daily basis. One of the key features I really love about these Osprey reels is the bushing system in the bail roller. No more bearings to corrode. That to me is a huge benefit from helping Eliminate line twist and having the possibility of losing a big fish. The drag system is as smooth as silk. I can’t say enough about these reels. Also with the warranty and repair system these guys have in place I will soon be replacing all of my reels with Florida Fishing Products.
