Guide Story - Old Florida Angling

There are few fish that can run drag like a bull redfish, jump like a tarpon, and find structure to cut you off on like a bonefish; and while Florida is known to have all three of the aforementioned species, it also is home to one species in particular that carries all three of these characteristics. Snook are well known for their ability to rock ya on a dock, spit a hook back in your eye, and send anglers home cursing like a fisherman…which if you didn’t know, is far worse than the mouth of a sailor. In this Guide Story, Capt. Matthew Sturdivent of Old Florida Angling shares about what drove him to his fascination for what he calls “Florida’s Fish”: the not so common Snook.
