I own two Osprey CE reels a 1000 and a 2500 and I use them to fish in the surf. I cast a lot of lures so I need the reels to be light and hold up. I have had no issue with these reels and they still are very smooth. For the price this will be my go to reel for salt and fresh water from here on out. I also love you can send the reels back for 42 dollars and have them cleaned. A service that typically cost double anywhere else.

I fish about 300 fishing trips a year, from backwaters and creeks to beating up grouper and snapper offshore. I absolutely beat the heck out of my equipment with the types of fishing that is required in my area...I am currently on my second full season of using Florida Fishing products, I have yet to experience any difficulties with the mechanics in any of my 12 reels...Smooth, long lasting and powerful, and that’s what makes it the best reels on the market in my opinion.

As with all of my FFP reels the new Resolute series is smooth and performs as as advertised. On the 8000s I have had a couple Tarpon and several sharks with great drag response and the ability to put as much heat on the fish that I dare. My 5000s have caught some decent Jacks and Redfish but have not been tested to a great limit yet but I am sure that they will do fine when it happens. Nice Quality and great drags....

Guide Tested & Approved. As a busy Charter guide I demand good quality gear that holds up. I recently purchased 2 Resolute reels to replace some older ones.
